This Yiwu Ancient White Tea comes from the legendary Yi Wu Xishuangbanna tea region in southern Yunnan. The leaves are harvested from ancient Gushu tea trees, some of which are several centuries old – the same trees normally used for top-quality Pu-erh.
Unlike classic white teas from Fujian, this tea is made from the large-leaf Assamica variety. However, the processing follows traditional white tea methods: gentle withering and slow drying without roasting or fermentation. The result is a white tea with exceptional depth, structure, and inner calm.
The loose leaf quality allows for particularly fine control of the tea's development during infusion and enables its maturation potential to be monitored over many years.
